President’s Message

Let me begin by thanking a few people for their service to CFAX Santas Anonymous Society last year. Alan Brown set a great example as President and we are appreciative for his continued involvement assuming the role of Past President. Departing Directors Janet Evans and Cathy Cox will be missed and we acknowledge their contribution to Santas Anonymous. As we look to the year ahead, I would like to welcome new Board members Carole Hartland and Ron Grant.

As I think about our Society, I’d like to say it’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve as your President. I’m grateful to those before me, Presidents, Board members and volunteers who have devoted personal resources and worked to lend the vision that makes CFAX Santas Anonymous the strong, successful society it is today.

I owe a great amount of thanks to immediate Past President Alan Brown, and Executive Director Christine Hewitt who over the years have been outstanding leaders and mentors. They put much effort into growth and sustainability, and do so in a manner which is highly professional and caring.

In my involvement with CFAX Santas Anonymous I have learned that the inherent drive and dedication of the Board comes from a history of nurturing by our past Presidents and Honorary Members. I extend special thanks to (Honorary Members) Don Monsour, Mel and Carmela Copper, Marilyn Cann, Bruce Williams, Kevin Bell, Maureen Quested, Rob Kivell, Cathy Cox, Cheryl Jenkins, Wendy Graham and Dave Cockle and past Administrator Dusty Cunningham.

I also acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding commitment of the Society’s dedicated volunteers – over 35 years of heart and soul for our Christmas Program, the office and special events.

CFAX Santas Anonymous Society owes its success to the Greater Victoria Community — citizens, local business, corporations and philanthropists that give their financial gifts and resources, gifts in kind and more — entrusting the Society to steward their gifts responsibily and enhance the lives of local children in our community.  I am so proud to live in a community with this generous spirit.

As I assume this role, I keep in mind the trust and belief I have in the Mission of Santas Anonymous to help children in need no matter the need, and our commitment to the community to respect their generosity and support. This year my goals are on solidifying the initiatives created in 2012 and to support continued growth and involvement in the community.

Please contact me any time by email at or leave a message for me at the CFAX Santas Anonymous office at 250-920-4644.
