Santas Christmas Hamper Program

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has the application process changed?

Our program can serve approximately 1,200 families each year. Because demand now exceeds our capacity, we are asking for financial information so we can prioritize eligible families experiencing the greatest financial need.

What information will I need to provide?

You will be asked to answer mandatory questions about your household and financial circumstances and upload supporting documentation, such as Canada Child Benefit (CCB), Social Assistance information, or other forms of financial verification.

You may still be able to apply if you can provide another form of financial verification.

What if I do not want to provide financial information?

CFAX Santas Anonymous is a member of the Christmas Giving Network of Greater Victoria.

If you choose not to provide financial information, our website will provide information about other organizations in the Christmas Giving Network that may be accepting applications for Christmas assistance.

Does completing an application guarantee a hamper?

No. A completed application does not guarantee a hamper.

We will use the information provided to help determine which families are prioritized based on need.

Take a Peek Inside a 2026 Christmas Hamper

  • Gifts for Every Child

Every child registered with CFAX Santas Anonymous receives two thoughtfully selected Christmas gifts, each valued at about $50.

Parents share their child’s interests and help choose one Parent’s Choice gift with a Santas volunteer. Another gift is hand-picked by our experienced Santa’s Elves volunteers, using those interests as their guide.

That means thoughtful gifts chosen especially for each child, with equal care and value across the family!

  • The Food Hamper

With schools on break and meal programs unavailable during the Christmas holidays, our food hampers are designed to help families stock their pantry. Each family receives three thoughtfully packed bags of groceries, providing a variety of shelf-stable foods and pantry staples to help carry them through the holiday break.

  • Grocery Gift Card

Families also receive a $150 grocery gift card to help with the turkey and all the trimmings, or whatever makes their family’s holiday meal special. It can also be used for fresh foods, perishables and special dietary needs.

Christmas Giving Network of Greater Victoria

CFAX Santas Anonymous Society is a founding member of the Christmas Giving Network (CGN) of Greater Victoria. The network includes three Salvation Army branches, The Mustard Seed, Sooke Food Bank, 1Up Single Parent Resource Centre, Saanich Peninsula Food Bank, Goldstream Food Bank, and several community associations.

CGN members share a common application process so that each individual or family receives one Christmas hamper. That way more people in our community can enjoy a Christmas experience.

If you do not qualify for CFAX Santas Anonymous, or if our 1,200 spaces are full, another CGN member agency may still be able to help.
